No, I have not had writer's block. I have not been without ideas, and I have definitely not been short of photos to illustrate blog posts with.
I have written a lot, but not for this blog. My ideas have gone into other writing. Since I last posted here I have taken about 1600 photos, some of which will appear here today and in the near future.
You see, we do not have a land line at our house in the French countryside, which means no internet connection. I have used my netbook on a couple of occasions to check email and to get news using a hotel's or restaurant's Wi-Fi, but I have not dared do internet banking or anything involving passwords and money. Neither do I have the necessary programs on the netbook to blog. I have, in other words, been bloggingly celibate.
The fact is, we do not even have a TV, just French radio, so we have been almost completely out of touch with the rest of the world apart from a few mobile phone calls and text messages. I will come back to our French holiday in a later post.
As soon as the school year was over, I and Ms Swenglish went to see my son's family in Stockholm. I do not think I need to tell you what a wonderful time we had. Among other things we went on a couple of sightseeing tours by boat in gorgeous weather.
I leave you for now with some pictures from the beautiful Swedish capital.
Now I might even find time to read other people's blogs!

Welcome back! I was wondering what happened to you!
I am happy to hear that you took a few months off technology. It must have been very tranquil... I sure would need that.;))
I am looking forward to see at least a fraction of the pictures you took.;))
And the first picture in this series is truly so very Swedish, at least in my eyes. It brings back memories of the lovely "Vi på Saltkråkan".;))
Lovely photo's of the family. Hubby and I are going to be on the road for about a month ourselves, don't know if and when I'll be online. I do need to keep up with bill pay etc., so will need to find a secure spot to check in. Guess I better read up on security issues tonight.
Protege - Thanks for the welcome. It was so peaceful that you in the end longed to get back; just like a good holiday should be. Re the first picture, yes, I understand your association, but "Tjorven" was a little rounder! ;-)
She can only look very Swedish, what with one parent from the very south and the other from "way up north", and living in Stockholm!
Janeywan - (You managed to squeeze in just before my comment to Protege!) Thank you, yes they are sweet. I hope you have a wonderful holiday yourself after having read up and possibly set up all the payments, because they do punish you if you are late, don't they? ;-)
Welcome back ... I was a bit concerned, but then decided you had taken off for the summer. September is here and you have returned. Lovely photos, bringing back great memories.
Veronica - Thanks, it is rather nice to be missed. Stockholm is a beautiful (summer) city. Glad it brought back good memories to you. I will soon put up some photos on my photo blog as well, but I have to make some jam and sauce with the plums and apples brought back from our French garden first. Yum!
Welcome back! You make me want to go to Sweden!
Oreneta - Thank you. Maybe I should charge the Swedish Tourist Board! ;-)
Fantastic photos! And I envy you the ability to cut yourself off that way. It sounds pretty wonderful, really.
So - you've been here, near me! Love the photos and welcome back.
Diane - Cutting off? Well, I had no choice really. But I got the itch in the end! ;-)
LadyFi - Yes, and I guess you recognise a few of the scenes.
