First snow!

IMG_6910 IMG_6917

Yes, it's here! I am sitting here with a mug of hot chocolate, mit Schuss (Stroh from Austria), as we say in German. That's my reward for walking in this heavy snowfall coming from every direction. I did my duty and had the first go of the season at clearing the pavement from snow, and then I just had to put our wooden snowman on the doorstep.

Oh so jealous... it is cooler here.. but no snow.. I can remember my first night in Munich - in a little apartment on my own and it snowed - so quiet... (for an Australian girl it was a big deal) - I snuck out and made snow angels...it was brilliant! Never loses its magic for me.

Ninna - Tack. Som du ser så var det ganska lätt att kommentera trots allt. Kul om du gör det i fortsättningen, det är alltid trevligt att läsa vad folk tycker, t o m syskon! ;-)
Lynda - It did not last long I'm afraid. Today, the after, it is all melting away, all 15 cm of it! (That's how thick it was on the garden table.) But it looked beautiful last night in the dark.

I always feel excited like a small child when I see the first snow. I guess it wakes up many memories. Then the excitement changes to a calming effect.

Oh! I really wish to have a white Christmas, one year. Even though we used to ski every year, that is snow in July and August, in Down Under land.

CS - I believe you're right, it has a calming effect, and it is beautiful.
Veronica - I have been to the Blue Mountains once in August, and there was a hotel where they had a BIG Father Christmas in the lobby. I think they served Christmas food as well, only to take advantage of the slight chill in the air, which reminded people of a northern hemisphere Christmas. Strange things happen.

Aussies do funny things ... it's because we are on our heads down in this part of the world ;-)

How beautiful! We got a little here, but it melted as it came down. :-(

Diane - I knew I had to be quick to get any snaps. Not much left of it now. The problem is to make it snow where we want it, like not where we drive for instance. ;-)
